This 90 minute Acupuncture Facial treatment tonifies the skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and boosts collagen and elastin of the face. Benefits also promote deep relaxation on the infrared Biomat and an option for red light therapy. During this treatment, acupuncture points in the ears, scalp, body and face are used in combination with the application of Arbonne or Dr Haushka skincare products and a refreshing peppermint foot rub. For best results, it is recommended to book 10 consecutive treatments in a row, and then use individual treatments as "tune ups" for maintaining better looking skin and a rejuvenated glow.

Microneedling, a.k.a. Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) uses the skin’s own ability to heal itself using a sterile microscopic needle to trigger the production of new collagen. Microneedling is a non-invasive treatment that involves using a Acu-micro pen to create microscopic holes in the skin’s surface, followed by applying a topical hydrating product directly onto the surface of the skin. The microchannels created by microneedling then allow the skincare product to penetrate deeply into the skin, hydrating it from within.

This, combined with the trauma healing response in the skin that microneedling stimulates, allows your skin to produce more collagen and elastin whilst staying hydrated.

Microneedling has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles; diminish hyperpigmentation; and improve skin tone and texture, resulting in smoother, firmer, younger looking skin. Noticeable benefits typically occur between 2-4 weeks following the treatment; and best results follow after a series of 3-6 sessions.

A Chinese herbal formula is created by first using traditional diagnostic practices such as pulse reading, tongue observation, and a detailed discussion of symptoms to identify the body’s unique pattern of imbalance. Instead of treating a single symptom, the practitioner looks at the root cause and the overall constitution of the person. Based on this pattern, herbs with complementary properties are combined, some addressing the main imbalance, others supporting the body, guiding the formula, or harmonizing its effects. The result is a balanced, personalized prescription designed to restore harmony and promote healing.

In my practice, I strive to be a good listener and to become an integral part of my patient’s health and healing journey. Combining Acupuncture, herbs, nutritional medicine and bodywork, I try to draw from a broad knowledge and years of continued studies to treat patients in the most appropriate way for the individual. Since the first time I received Acupuncture, I understood it to be one of the most powerful treatment modalities available. After graduating from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine with my Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2005, I started my practice in Portland Oregon. Since then, I have been specializing in Facial Acupuncture, Acupuncture for Women’s health, Fertility and Pregnancy, and Acupuncture for Pain and Injury.

Alison Mckenzie, LAc

My speciality is providing holistic healthcare through the Chinese Medicine Model, incorporating acupuncture, herbs, cupping, gua sha, and tuina to help patients regain their balance and improve their overall well-being. I seek to understand the root of the patient’s healthcare concerns while continuing to address the current symptoms. I graduated from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2013 and have completed additional coursework in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for fertility, babies and children, mental emotional disorders, fibromyalgia, and thyroid conditions. I have extensive experience in working with auto injury recovery, post-surgery recovery, sports injuries and musculoskeletal pain, migraines, and women’s health, including prenatal support, as well as residual effects of Lyme disease, providing immunity and allergy support, and side effects of cancer treatments.
